This release contains 2 new Spotify Canvas Video Styles:

These styles create effects that are sourced directly from your music's artwork, which makes them very versatile if you have a lot of different styles of cover art.

The videos are meant to highlight your album art, so you'll get the best results starting with square images. As usual, non square dimension images will be automatically cropped before rendering.

Album Art Rolling RGB Pixel Background

Similar to other background effect styles, this template uses your cover art image of choice in order to create the background.

The background mimics the look of looking at a screen close enough that you can see the pixels. To see the result, look at any of the demos from far away, and you'll see the pixels disappear, and the image source image itself form.

One thing to consider with this style is the colors in your album art image. If you have a very dark image, or an image with a lot of black, the pixel effect may be very subtle, or not appear at all. This is because the Red, Green, and Blue values to represent Black are 0, 0, and 0, respectively. Thus, the pixels in the background effect will appear to be deactivated.

On the flipside, you'll notice that images containing very bright colors or white will fully engage the pixels, and each color - red, green and blue - will appear at full strength.

Regardless of your image, the effect itself is very smooth, and recommended if you're going for a more understated Canvas video or if your music isn't extremely high energy.

Album Art Pixel Fidelity Malfunction

There are two separate pixelation effects occurring in this style.

For your artwork, the pixelation size is all the same whenever the effect is active (though it changes from frame to frame).

On the other hand, effect applied to your background is a bit more random, and is pixelated in strands of different sizes.

These two elements, combined with the floating effect of your artwork, create a perfect video style for higher energy tracks, especially bass music or other electronic genres.
